The Community Bed

Community [kuh-myoo-ni-tee] – people with common interests living in a particular area.

I used to love that word.  It conveys a feeling of connectivity…

Bed [bed] –  a piece of furniture upon which or within a person sleeps.

I remember when we used to sleep well in our bed…

Put the two together and what do you have… The Community Bed.  A place where everyone living in a particular area sleeps.  Or in other words, a real mucked up situation!

To say that those were the only questions I considered would be a lie.  In fact, there was one question that ran through my mind after each doctor’s visit. I didn’t vocalize it, but it was amplified in my head.  It’s a question that I tried not to focus on until after the baby arrived, however, after my boys were born, and a clean bill of health was rendered, I immediately began to focus on the question AND the answer….

Fighting Sleep

Sometimes I wish I had an “Amari” emoticon to express my feelings.  More so now than ever before.  After all, he can do things without offending anyone because he’s a baby.  Let’s be real…

If a baby burped out loud in your face, you’d smilingly say, “Whoa, that was a big one, huh?! Did you get it all out?”

If I, an adult, burped out loud in your face, you’d give me the side eye and then post about me and my trifling self in your status message on Facebook.
